Bethany Christian Church is a Disciples of Christ Church.
At Bethany, worship services are a time for joyful praise and Christian renewal through the sharing of God’s word. The Lord’s Supper is the central element of our worship together. We celebrate communion every Sunday and invite all who believe in Jesus to take part. Regardless of your denomination, you are welcome here.
The Chancel Choir, Handbells and Chime Choir, occasional soloists and contemporary music, as well as youth participation, enhance our services. Some services feature a children’s sermon or Youth Choir performance. During worship, we provide Extended Session after communion for preschool and early elementary children for activities geared to their age and needs.
ARTICLE III - PURPOSE The purpose of this Congregation is to seek God through Jesus Christ, to challenge others to do so, and to meet other human needs in the name of Christ, in an atmosphere of mutual respect, friendship and fellowship, and in cooperation with others who call themselves by His name.
Our secretary, Carole Humphrey, is retiring at the end
of 2011, after serving faithfully for 17 years. Plans to recognize her
many years of service are in progress.
If you know anyone who would like a part-time job as Church Secretary, please refer them to Dr. Bob.
The
job entails answering the telephone, accepting deliveries, managing the
office, and writing and copying the weekly Church service bulletins and
the monthly newsletter. Word processing skills are necessary.
Candidates will work closely with Dr. Bob, the Board and committee
chairmen, and many members of the Church. For full details, see Dr.
Bob.
In the meantime, if anyone can help Bob in the office in
early January -- or with any of the jobs that are regularly carried out
by the secretary until a new one is hired, please let Bob know as well.
